UOI – How the work works
The students took up their research on weather instruments. Studying the weather allows students the opportunity to engage in current events. The students each picked an example of extreme weather and found articles to summarize. The students will peer edit their rough drafts on Monday.

Knights in the Classroom

Knights in the Classroom

Wow! What a fantastic experience for the students. The Knights in the Classroom taught a fantastic hands on lesson about ancient civilizations. The students wore clothing of the ancient Romans, practised Tai-Chi, played the traditional Celtic game Hurling, shot bows and much more.

We saw a thrilling sword fight! Please see the video below.

After lunch the students work on the Jump Math problems on page 112 – 113. Complete the rest for homework.

Last period the student reviewed the International Mindedness Day research. Well done! I am looking forward to the guest lecturer on Friday.

The students completed the day with Daily 5 – read to self.

Reminders  
Hands on History will be coming tomorrow morning.

The grade 5’s and 6’s reviewed the metric system and were introduced to measuring masses. The students estimated masses of everyday objects.

UOI – How the work works
The students completed an investigation into the saturation of water. This was used to model saturation point in clouds and precipitation.

The students followed the scientific method by making predictions, recording observations and drawing conclusions.
